Hi All!
Eden is growing so quickly I can hardly believe my eyes! I know I've said it before, and I'll say it again, life with an infant is sure unpredictable! She keeps me on my toes, that's for sure!
Here's a few things that have been going on around here!
Exhibit A: I think Eden has found her feet! It is so fun to watch her stare and try to grab them in her Bumbo! I never thought something so silly could be so entertaining, and cause me to be so proud! She has no clue they exist when she's on her...
SHE DID IT! Baby girl slept through the night!!! 8 1/2 hours....I can hardly believe it! Of course, I woke up at 5:50 (she gets up at 7) like freaking out because she was either a: still sleeping soundly or b: had stopped breathing. Okay, so I know the second one is just fear that creeps up in me every now and then, but still! I was so excited/nervous I couldn't sleep, so I didn't really get the luxury of sleeping that same amount of time...but who cares! She did it! I can't tell you how much I needed this...
Okay, so I swore I'd never put Eden in a hat at the pool....I mean, I grew up in South Florida AND was bald and never had my head burned. Really my problem was never with the hat, it was the fact that all the hats I saw were u-g-l-y (and didn't match her bathing suit) You can see where my priorities lie! Aaron, however, really wanted our baby girl in a hat.....i saw this one at Old Navy, and lucky me, it matched her swim suit PERFECTLY! Now daddy's happy, mama's happy, and...
Our little lady had her 2 month check up today...mama could hardly believe it!! Here are her stats....picture with dolly to come!
Weight: 11lbs 2oz - 62%
Height: 22 3/4 inches - 69%
Head: 14 3/4 inches - 21%
baby girl at 2 months with her dolly
baby girl at 1 month with dolly....can you tell a difference?
Eden LOVES it when I hold her up on her feet like she's standing......the proof is in the picture! Hope she brightens your day :)
So at my OB-GYN practice, there are many doctors. Because of this, you really have no idea who will actually deliver your baby when the time comes. To help get you some what familiar with each doctor before hand, every time you go into the office during your prenatal visits you see a different doctor. I rotated and rotated and by the time my 9 months was up, I had seen everyone twice, some 3 times. Now, there are 2 doctors in the practice that no longer practice obstetrics, and so I never saw them.
Now, imagine my surprise when...
Let me start out by saying that this list is what works/ doesn't work for me and me alone. I in no way think our way is the best or only way...there are certaintly many ways to train a child! I just wanted a little record for myself, and well, I can type faster than I can write :)
Here goes:
1. Less is best in the crib. I know I have mentioned this before, but a firm mattress, and a sheet is all my little one needs. Sure, she's got a cute sheet and bed skirt but bumper and sleep positioner...
So Eden has a tendency to smash her face up against the bumper in her crib....not something I'm too crazy about. How that girl moves in her swaddle me blanket I will never know. We always put her in the same place, parallel to the bumper on the far right hand side. Occasionally she'll remain in one spot, on others she will have turned herself perpendicular to the bumper...and yet on others, there she'll be, all the way on the left hand side of the crib, nose smashed in the side! All this to say, aidos bumper. Not really into...
So I don't understand how women with children find time to blog every day. Eden is on such an amazing, predictable schedule, eating about every 3.5 hours and napping 1.5 to 2 hours every cycle, and there is just no time. Between my time in the word, working out, showering, cleaning, cooking, eating lunch, hanging out with friends, and a few minutes to hop on facebook (i can't stay completely out of touch, right?) there is just no time! My apologies :) Though I would imagine most of you who read this are really more concerned with pictures than anything...
